Pinckney Community Education

Our highly-qualified teachers use the Orton-Gillingham methodology and all five pillars of literacy plus language comprehension to drive measurable gains for all students. Our programs are located within our elementary schools, Country and Farley Hill, to give our youngest learners exposure to the elementary school setting. In addition, preschool teachers work closely with our K-2 teachers in order to help all students be ready for the next step in their learning, Kindergarten!

Age Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Child must be 3 by Dec. 1, 2025 for the 3's programs
2. Child must be 4 by Dec. 1, 2025 for the 4's programs
3. It is highly encouraged that all children in the preschool program are completely toilet trained and are able to independently use the restrooms 

For the Four-Year-Old program: Registration is a two-step process. You must complete the online registration AND the GSRP application.

In addition to the online forms, the child's birth certificate, a doctor-signed health appraisal, and a current immunization record must be turned into the Community Education Office when registering. These can be submitted in person or by emailing khultgren@pinckneypirates.org. You are not registered until these forms are on file. 

*Fridays release at 2:38pm with the rest of the school.

Latchkey is available before and after school for an additional fee.

We understand that occasional absences are unavoidable. Our preschool operates as a school setting—not a daycare—with a focus on structured routines and classroom expectations. Regular attendance, as outlined in the schedule above, helps support both your child’s learning and a consistent, focused environment for all students. We kindly ask that families follow the full schedule, as partial attendance can be disruptive to the class as a whole.
