    Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid and Safe Home Alone Learn to be safe and responsible. Build confidence. Have a competitive edge over other babysitters. One-day class. Topics include first aid, when and how to call 911, CPR with manikin practice, choking, and more! Students will also learn how to be safe and responsible when home alone, including what to do if somebody comes to the door and the importance of not giving out personal information. Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion for Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course by Live Safe Academy (valid for two years). To be certified students must participate in the entire course from beginning to end and successfully complete all skills, which requires full motor function of all four extremities. No refunds or credit with less than 24-hour notice. If you need a medical exception, email Live Safe Academy at info@LiveSafeAcademy.com before class. Bring a snack, pen and paper for notes is optional. No cell phone use during class except during break. Please note that students must arrive on time to be certified, so please arrive up to 10 minutes early. Parents, this class is for students who are independent and responsible enough to be responsible for the safety and well-being of younger children without adult supervision. Please check in your student at the beginning of class. Drop off and pick up is in the same room as class. This class sometimes ends late, approximately 10 minutes.     Fun with Acrylics and Mixed Media (Grades 3 to 8) Fee: $195 Students will paint three paintings: seasonal, abstract animal painting or mixed media, and an 8x10 texture project, and will learn about color value, blending, lines, shapes and textures.

This course is also available as an online course. Drum Lessons Fee: $159.00 plus $10 material fee paid to the instructor (6 weeks) Private lessons designed to get beginning students playing music in the least amount of time. Students learn basic rock and pop beats, popular songs, how to read drum music, and drum specific techniques. Lessons are fun and engaging. Motivated students can opt in to perform with other young players in our Live Rock Band classes. Lessons are for all ages and all levels, beginner to advanced.   • Swim Lessons

    Parents: Please consider child's swim skills, confidence and maturity when selecting the swim class. A parent must be in the water with the child for the Aqua Tot classes. Aqua Tots 1 (Parent must be in the water): This class is about bonding with the parents as they provide support and guidance at all times. Children are still developing strength and coordination while exploring the water. We play games and sing songs as parents learn how to hold their children and move them through the water. Aqua Tots 2 (Parent must be in the water): For those ready to explore swimming more independently with parental guidance. Children will develop core strength, begin learning coordination of strokes and kicks while using noodles and equipment for support. Level 1 (Basic Water Skills): Child must be comfortable in the water without a parent. Class includes introduction to the water environment, blowing bubbles/putting face in the water, front/back kicks, arm scoops, water submersion, and water safety. This class is designed to teach independent swimming. Level 1B: Child must be comfortable in the water without a parent. For children who have completed Level 1 but still require basic instruction. Level 2 (Stroke Development): Child must have prior swim instruction, basic water skills and must be able to swim independently. Development of front/back strokes, rhythmic breathing, flipping front to back/back to front, breaststroke pull, and underwater exploration. Level 3 (Stroke Improvement): Child must have passed Level 2 class (or have instructor approval) and must be able to swim the length of the pool. Continued stroke improvement on front/back, breaststroke basics, introduction to butterfly, diving and treading water. This class works on endurance.

  • Youth Basketball Skills League

    First and Second Grade Basketball Instructional program This fun instructional program is a great introduction to basketball. Players will play in workshop format working on the fundamentals of basketball. This includes stationary dribbling moves, correct lay-up form and the beginning levels of defensive footwork. No Practice 2/15. Basketball Skills Leagues (Grades 3-8) $150 | Register by Nov. 22 and save $20 (Price increases to $170 on Nov. 23) First Practice: Week of Dec. 9 | First Game: Jan. 11 | No Games Feb. 15 Third/Fourth Grade Teams Weeks 1-3 will be three-on-three half-court setting, and weeks 4-6 will be five-on-five full-court basketball. The goal is to teach spacing and the skills it takes to play the game with other players on the court while introducing rules and slowly eliminating violations. With three-on-three, players will get more touches on the ball and more opportunity to make moves, get more shots and more basketball opportunities. We will then take the last three weeks of the program and re-calibrate teams to create five-on-five basketball teams to introduce the concepts of a more genuine basketball experience. Practice days and times will be announced in November. Fifth through Eighth Grade Teams Five-on-five full-court setting. The goal is to teach the basics of the game and make it as fun as possible while still improving players’ skills. Practice days and times will be announced in November.
